What is osteoarthritis?

As a result of OA, the body attempts to repair any damage. New bone is laid down and cysts are formed. It is the bone on bone rubbing and these secondary effects that result in pain.

Does exercise help osteoarthritis ?     YES

Is it specific exercises that will help osteoarthritis?     YES

Do I need to do exercises every day for osteoarthritis?     No

Recent evidence has shown that both aerobic and resistance exercise has a positive effect on pain and function of an osteoarthritic knee. These effects are larger in the mild-moderate arthritic knee and therefore the earlier you start the correct exercises, the more beneficial it will be.
