What is a Mallet Finger?

A mallet finger is an injury to the extensor tendon of the finger. This tendon attaches to the bone on the end of the finger and helps straighten the distal interphalangeal joint. When there’s a injury to this tendon such as a ball striking the finger down it can cause the tendon to snap.
